    Description

    A Good Simple  Scholar's Seal Box.Very nice Chinese antique handmade wooden seal box with fantastic original lacquer that resembles horn. Nice deep depth to the lacquer. Inside is red lacquered and split into two sections. The bottom left half of the inside of the lid has very well painted calligraphy.The box is very delicate, thin and light and I believe the wood to be some type of cedar. It is a great provincial scholars itme... Simple in it's understated  elegance. Circa 1900-50
    Condition: There is a crack to the  lid which can be seen from the inside. Some minor wear cracks to the lacquer.  See photos for complete detail.  Overall is in good usable condition.
