Superb Condition
Plays Slightly Above A=440
Offered is a rare and desirable one-key flute in F (transposing key of Eb for written music). Lowest note plays F. Made of cocus wood with metal rings and key. Sounding length 17 3/8" or 443 mm. Plays slightly above A=440 and can be tuned using plumbing washers or tuning rings. The design appears English with a large embouchure and medium small tone holes. Looks to be c.1830's to 1840's. The condition is excellent and near perfect with only some minor scuffs and scratches. The crown appears to be a replacement but matches very well. There are no cracks or evidence of any previous cracks. Just cleaned, oiled, tenons rethreaded, new leather pad and new corks. All in all a beautiful robust player with a strong tone. This flute will cut through any ensemble. Perfect for Irish or traditional music in the key of F or Bb.
It does not include a case but it will be well packed with each joint wrapped and cushioned. The cardboard box can serve as a temporary case. I will also have flute rolls for sale separately.
