    Antique Scottish Provincial Horn and Silver Quaich.
    Made in Scotland in the late 1800's.
    Diameter of bowl about 2 3/4"
    Width at widest about 5 1/2"
    Height about 1 1/4"
    The Scots Galic motto Sguab As'i means to "sweep it back". What we would do with a shot of whisky.
    This is a cup used in ceremonies like homecomings or weddings where two parties are joining. Two "lugs" or ears allowing the cup to be passed and shared, then holding both, drink hearty.
    The cross on one handle is celtic in style, and the plant on the other handle is the flower of Scotland, the thistle.(Onopordum acanthium)
