Vtg State Seal embroidered wall hanging West Virginia June 20, 1863
Montani Semper Liberi
About 22" wide, and 19" long
Good Condition for its age, but looks like there may have been damage and a repair to man with the blue suit - head looks to have been reattached. See photos, and back of hanging shows repair.
Looks like it was handmade.
Very nice material sewed (embroidered) onto a backing- different types of material - maybe silk, velour, and many others all forming this great montage of West Virginia!
Not sure of the date it was made, but appears to be of the 1800s, perhaps made right around the date of
June 20, 1863.
